If you are an immigrant, you will not progress far... and I'm speaking as a non-immigrant member of the HR team. I've heard what is said behind closed doors. All you have to do and look at the corporate structure to confirm this -- look at the company's directors and VPs. There is a lot of nepotism that is accepted simply because it's the company culture. Nobody speaks up to challenge the status quo because the backlash is severe.
