Avantages

Occasional free lunches, good work hours, friendly co-workers, 401K match, vacation, cool trips. But nowadays you'll get these perks at any decent company...

Inconvénients

Micromanagement is what this place specializes in, and don't be fooled by this so called "sales" organization because I've never worked at a sales job where you are punished for selling too much! That's right, stay off the radar and don't make more than $75 a year and you'll be fine. But if you're fortunate enough to have a great year and significantly break the 6 figure range, enjoy it because IT WILL BE THE LAST TIME YOU DO! They will reduce your lead opportunity and/or slash your commission pay scale so that the following year you can sell just as much but make half of what you did the prior year. Instead of rewarding top performers, they try to find a way to pay you less. Their philosophy is basically if you're selling too much and making too much money, then you have too much opportunity, too low of a quota and too high if a pay scale. They don't believe that anyone can be just a great salesman and can exceed the pay curve, you only exceeded it because of reasons I mentioned above and they'll be quick to correct it. Needless to say this is a place for amateur or entry level sales people. This is the minor leagues at best, if you're a real salesman who wants uncapped commission without the fear of doing too we'll and being punished then DO NOT APPLY! Also the politics in this place are absurd. If you fit the mold and aren't good they will still promote you plain & simple. It doesn't matter who is better qualified what matters is how much your VP likes you. They all have egos and are never wrong so don't try to speak up or challenge anyone. Also the HR department is a joke. There are girls who get their butts slapped and get called different names by certain managers and Sr reps and nothing is done to them. Everyone there gossips and is in everyone else's business it's like high school but worse. God forbid you were to assist a female with a work task, the next thing you'll hear is that you're sleeping together and will receive an HR inquiry which permanently stays in your file! Yet those that joke about coming back from lunch stoned or buzzed are not reprimanded. They don't care how well you can sell, you have to do things the way they want, even if you found a better way to sell more. All they care about is dials and talk time to the point where now everyone makes fake dials to pad their stats, which does no good for anyone! If you make 100 dials a day and 3 hrs of talk time but sold nothing you won't have any problems (until of course you're ultimately fired for not producing) but if you only made 20 dials for 1 hr of talk time but brought in $10,000 of revenue you will get chewed out for not making more dials. I did this consistently and was a top performer but was constantly disciplined for low dials. I didn't need to make that many dials because I'm an effective salesman who can close and can do it efficiently with 1/3 of the dials as others. But again, this place doesn't believe in "good salesman" all they believe in is their formula which is to fill positions with average people with average skills, have them make an average of 100 dials and 3 hrs of talk time and they will generate on average around $250k in Revenue annually. Give $50-$75k to the sales rep and the rest goes to the house. It's a great business model and it does work and if you're an average salesman happy with $50-$75k max a year then go for it.

Thank you for the review. I wish we were posting fake positive reviews as it would make my job easier, but alas, we have no internal fake job posting program at ADP. I'm actually pleasantly surprised each day at the positive reviews we do have from all over the world, because we're not perfect. In regards to your review we really appreciate you honesty. It gives a full scope of your experience and I will be escalating your review to our Sr. Leadership team. Thank you for your time.

Resume Gold! Having the name on your resume opens doors because people know you can survive a high-volume, high-complexity environment. That’s where the benefits end.

Inconvénients

Pay: It’s a joke. They expect specialized, expert-level work and deep tax knowledge for a base salary that is way below the market. They use the big name as an excuse to underpay you. Work/Life Balance: You are never truly off. To hit the impossible quotas, people are forced to work off the clock just to keep up. Management knows this is the only way the work gets done, but they look the other way so they don't have to address the workload. Management: They are manipulative and not leaders. Instead of helping with the workload, they use moving goalposts and vague promises of growth to keep you running. There is no advocacy for employees. Make sure to get everything in writing. Some get amnesia. Quantity over Quality: It’s a sweatshop for data. You’re forced to rush through complex setups just to hit a Go-Live count to appease Sales. Accuracy is key, but it often takes a backseat to volume, which is a nightmare for anyone who cares about doing the job right. No Room to Grow: There is no real way to move up. ADP is a lateral move company, and that’s only if your management doesn’t stand in your way and prevent you from leaving for another internal team.
