Avantages
You actually work with people here that give a sh*t about the world and the problems in it. It's a very socially and politically conscious organization. There's unlimited room for impact here - you can take on and do as much as you personally choose to. Nobody will tell you to stop or tell you that its beyond your role. The compensation is very good for the size/stage of startup. We've had a challenging story up until today - multiple rebrands, lots of employee churn, PR drama - but we're finally past it and the company momentum is picking back up. It's finally looking up again and the morale is higher than it's been in a long time.
Inconvénients
We operate in a sensitive space - DEI means a million different things to a million different people so sometimes it's difficult to cut through the optics and virtue-signaling and focus on work. Having a strong mission means you attract really opinionated, ideological people - this can become exhausting quickly. The company has changed its name 2 times in 2 years - this can make brand recognition & continuity difficult. From an engineering perspective - there is lots of tech debt.
