Je travaille chez JOEY Restaurants à plein temps (Plus de 5 ans)

    Avantages

    - Fun environment
    - They hire great people
    - We CAN wear flats, and they're much less shallow than when I had first started with the company
    - Best restaurant I've ever worked in
    - They hold meetings for staff to discuss how management is doing
    - Drink and food seminars to learn about the products
    - Room for development
    - Scheduling is usually pretty good if you have seniority

    Inconvénients

    - No benefits if youre not in management
    - Favourtism
    - Very tiring and you always have to put on a happy front for their stance on hospitality
    - Must be willing to be coached and constantly guided (Wouldn't recommend for senior servers who are looking to not be constantly given feedback)

  3. « Most incompetent management I have ever worked for. »

J'ai travaillé chez JOEY Restaurants en contrat permanent (Moins d'un an)

    Avantages

The location was good, the potential to make good money was there if you actually got to keep your shift.

    Inconvénients

I worked at one of their Local locations.

Overstaffed yet continued to hire additional employees? Scheduled everyone for full time (5 shifts a week) so that it looked good on paper but then every single day, 2 times a day (before day and night shift) they call off 3-6 employees and completely screw them over. Never worked at a place where nearly everyone, including the shift leaders, are completely miserable/not on board with managements decisions.

Once you're cut they try and force you to transfer all your tables over to the new server of them, yeah that's not how it works especially when they make cuts when the restaurant is nearly full. They'll only pay you for 30 minutes after you're cut regardless of if side duties are backed up.

They managed out all of their great bartenders that had optimal experience and by cutting their shifts to one a week replacing them with their girl servers who wanted to try bartending regardless of having 0 experience... guess they're just too focused on having a cute face at the well.

Management will also constantly fill up a tray of drinks and instead of running it themselves, forces it on their servers regardless of how swamped they are with their own tables. Don't get me wrong helping run your coworkers drinks is great, but you're own tables should always come first and management should be willing to run them too not just stand there and wait to push them onto servers.

Management also threatened to fire a girl for asking for her tip out aka her money from her past 3 bartending shifts.

    Conseils à la direction

Reevaluate everything you're doing. Stop being so labour focused heavy, servers shouldn't be cut when they restaurant is packed just because you're 'over your labour budget'

    Avantages

    -Awesome management team
-They know what they want in their waitstaff - they have high standards but that makes for a great guest AND employee experience
    - Has amazing potential to build a career within the company

    Inconvénients

No real cons, just wasn't suitable for my lifestyle at the time. Wouldn't recommend this as a "part time" waiting position - it takes some dedication.

    Conseils à la direction

Keep it up! Be as understanding and open as possible.
