    Avantages

    If you really want to take initiative and be developed, you can learn a lot of great skills with 24 hour fitness. Also dealing with members is awesome and it's nice to deal with people in a fast paced environment. What the company stands for is positive and a nice way to keep the company aligned.

    Inconvénients

    Low compensation, not much support from the cleaning crews in keeping the gym clean, very large job scope and high expectations. Sales is a must even from the service side with absolutely no commission

    Give better support on a corporate level to help teams be successful, whether that's investing in club leaders in the field, or holding contracted employees accountable more effectively.

    -Free all club membership -Steeply discounted Personal Training -Option for 401k participation and cell phone carrier discounts -Usually working with fitness minded people

    Inconvénients

    -Constantly changing policies and very poor communication regarding those policy changes -The only way you get a pat on the back is when you provide revenue above budget. Being in the service department, even when we did hit goal, we never were celebrated like the Fitness Managers or Membership Managers were. Service is the most important piece (apparently, so they say) yet gets the least recognition. -Depending... on your Club Manager, your experience can be fun and rewarding or terrible and full of unnecessary stress. -Most CM's and DM's do not know what they are doing and rely solely on the department heads to get it done right----yet they often believe that they have all of the answers and are not afraid to let you know it. -Raises are not given for performance on a discretionary basis. Only a one time per year increase based on not getting write ups and being around all year. -Since the new CEO took over, its been budget cuts to death. Making it very difficult to run your department under budget. -Unless your club is new or has a stellar foundation, say goodbye to bonuses. -Older clubs get left to die while all attention is focused on the next shiny new Super Sport club. -Upper management is out of touch and request outrageous expectations of one person running an entire department. -Team gets paid very little to do A LOT, and are expected to perform not just service, but membership sales as well -Very political. Promotions often based on who you know vs skill, or "who is the only good person you have to pick from."

    Start caring. Bring back incentives to the front desk like when we had commission for new card set-ups, retail sales commission, something please so that the turnover isn't so high. Make the fitness comp plan easy to understand as well so trainer headcount stays high. START CARING about something more than cutting cutting cutting and how much profit you can make. Treat your field level staff like they know how to do... their jobs. Pay better wages to front line team members. Make the bonus structure a bit more attainable

    - Great values - plenty of locations, easy to transfer - strong upper management group - Great employee benefits and incentives

    * very political, the higher up the corporate ladder you go the more it's about who you know * Very membership and fitness centered ad far as career development, not a very Service based groth development * Pay below Club Manager it's awful * Inconsistent management training between corporate expectations and club level management *

    Focus on your club management as a whole, not just Membership and Fitness. Keep it fun for you club staff. Keep all the career growth activities ie. Management Interest Day, Club Manager Trainee program.

    None!!! 24 hr fitness is a joke

    Inconvénients

    Upper management is a bunch of liars. No one will give you a honest answer and the reason is they don't know the answer. Working for them your surrounded by a bunch of corperate robots. To much politics. If your willing to brown nose you might do ok.

    Stop lieing! Learn your job! Know what your talking about before you open your mouth! It's funny your suppose to be in the business to help people and better lives mabey start with your employees. Hands down the worst place you could ever work!!!

    Flexible schedule, great atmosphere, family, you feel good about what you are doing because you are able to help people.

    Inconvénients

    Pay for the service side of the house is not very good in comparison to the other departments.

    fast promotions free membership. made some pretty good friends

    Inconvénients

    shady managers that take your OT worked, away disrespectful upper management once you clock out you are required to take phone calls while off with no pay. treat you like you are no one. you will have to re-prove yourself every time new management they treat you nice while they need you, and then you are on your own

    Limited potential for career advancement District level Management and above very poorly educated on the principles of business--they are where they are because they survived all these years! Members can be a nightmare---they expect too much for what they pay Facilities are usually dirty due to lack of cleaning contractors Equipment is usually old, dirty and breaking

    Hire, train and promote based on merit, not based on your "buddies" Review the wage scale for club management to make it fair and equitable for all department heads, not just the club manager. Take a serious look inward at some of the district managers and VP's because that is where a lot of the problems lie.

    Lack of upward mobility w/i the club or opportunity to cross-train for other roles. Lack of promotions for women. Favoritism.
